Decorating Fun

Hubby went back to work today. Thank God. I love him dearly, but he can be quite a bear when he’s working on a project…..and Daughter’s glamorous new bedroom definitely has been a project. It is nearly done, so hopefully tempers will cool off and return to normal. The room is looking awesome, by the way. Hubby built a bed that is screwed to the wall and suspended about 3 1/2′ off the floor. It’s got these cool scroll-y ends that make it feel sort of enclosed and private and a built-in ladder with half-moon steps. The room’s been wallpapered with paper that looks like real plaster. The bed and walls have all been painted a lucious shade of purple called “Imperial Lilac.” It won’t be completely finished until Christmas as my mom bought Daughter the comforter she wanted and is making coordinating curtains.

We are battening down the hatches today in preparation for a big snow storm. It’s the same one that’s been hammering the midwest. I am hoping praying that when it hits, it hits hard enough to cancel school tomorrow or at the very least demand a 2-hour delay. I do not want to be out driving a school bus on dangerous roads. Besides, I could really use the extra day to hoe out Daughter’s old room and move her into the new one, reclaiming the rest of the house in the process.

  1. Yikes! I wouldn’t want to drive a bus on slick streets, either.

    Thanks for visiting. :)
