A Season for Everything

As you can see by the ticker at the top of the page, it’s only 3 days until we leave for vacation……which means I am now officially in OMG! I*HAVE*SO*FREAKIN*MUCH*TO*DO! mode. Details, details, so many details to arrange. Details that should have been taken care of by now. Details that got put on hold (like all the rest of my life) while I was horribly sick for 5 days.

However, before I can get started on vacation details, I’ve got to finish cleaning up from yesterday’s Fourth of July festivities. We had a great day even if it did rain most of the time. We moved the tables into the garage and it wasn’t a pouring rain so the canopies we had up were enough to keep people from getting soaked while they sat near the fire pit. And it didn’t rain hard enough to put out the fire so we were able to have a ball with everyone roasting their own hotdogs and hamburgers and later on making mountain pies and s’mores while setting off some fireworks. There was no thunder or lightening for a change so anyone who wanted to swim still could (and plenty did). It rained but it was still hot and humid and the pool water felt great! It’s just that it was pretty late when things broke up so we cleaned up the food and the stuff in the yard but I have to take down the decorations and put the tables and chairs away today. Oh, and clean the mountain pie irons.

I don’t know how much I’ll be around the next couple of days, but I’ll stop in at least once more to say ‘Bye before we leave.
